If your room has an unconventional shape (like an 'L' shape), divide it into smaller rectangles, calculate the area for each, and then add them together to get the total floor area.
The Importance of Waste Percentage
No installation is perfect. Between cutting boards to fit edges, dealing with broken tiles, and making mistakes, you will always need more material than the exact square footage of the room. This is known as the "waste factor."
